Pre-Conference Experiences

If you are arriving in Atlanta on Saturday or early on Sunday, you can choose from among three pre-conference social and educational activities. Whether you’re seeking souvenirs or just want to enjoy time together, these activities offer an easy way to step out, explore, and connect. (Please note that the cost of any transportation, meals, or admission tickets will be your responsibility.)

Civil Rights Tour: Join Jennifer Wood, executive director of Jewish Augusta, and David Jacobs, CEO of the Mandell JCC of Greater Hartford, beginning at 8 a.m. on  Sunday, February 1, for a day-long exploration of the Civil Rights Movement. The agenda includes a one-hour guided walking tour, worship services at Ebenezer Baptist Church, a lunch break, and a visit to the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Georgia Aquarium: Connect informally with colleagues and build deeper friendships as you spend unhurried time during the afternoon (after 1 p.m.) on Sunday, February 1, enjoying the aquarium exhibits.

Shopping: Together with colleagues and friends, explore some of Atlanta’s retail options during the afternoon on Sunday, February 1, (after 1 p.m.):

  • Ponce City Market is a beautifully reimagined historic space turned vibrant shopping and entertainment hub, featuring a mix of well-known brands and local favorites, a lively food hall, and a rooftop attraction that’s perfect for browsing, eating, and lingering together.
  • Krog Street Market is Atlanta's first official food market, featuring Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized stalls and local shops.
  • In the heart of Alpharetta, 20 minutes north of the hotel, Experience Avalon is a sustainably designed, 86-acre community that features more than 570,000 square feet of retail. Avalon infuses resort-level hospitality throughout a walkable, seamlessly connected community of shopping, dining, entertainment, living and working.

If you would like to attend one of the Pre-Conference experiences, please let us know by filling out the pre-conference survey by Tuesday, January 27.
